Sampson's Stones Treasure Trove - Life from deadness

Character: A group of erratic boulders in what feels like a remote part of the Lake District in Upper Eskdale and just beneath the highest tops of England.

Approach: Parking is available at the bottom of Hard Knott Pass going toward Eskdale. Go down to the telephone box and take the main track up the delightful packhorse bridge.  Cross the bridge and follow the right-hand side of the stream to Scar Lathing.  Continue on the path where the river bends left and go over the great bog of Great Moss until you see the boulders on the other side of the river. Cross the river to gain the boulders.

The treasure trove is locate near the boulder closest to the river which will probably be the first one you come across.  It is placed under the slab to its South.

The box is hidden under this stone.
